Oh how I long to be with thee
To sail away on a cloud and live free
High in the sky is where I long to be
For that is where I can have a closer walk with thee.
Of for a walk with my savior is what I long for
Just a closer walk with the one whom I adore
A walk with the Savior so strong and so true
A walk with my Savior who carries me thru
A walk with my Savior so patient and pure
The one who has been there to help me endure
Endure the things that cause me strife
Endure my situations so that I’m not overwhelmed by my life
My Savior has shown me unconditional love
My Savior watches over me from Heaven above
My Savior protects me like no one else can
Because he always keeps me in the palm of his hand
Oh what a closer walk with my Savior does for me
How a walk with my Savior shows me situations I could not see
A walk with my Savior helps me to sail
Sail to that place behind the veil
A place where joy, peace, and love abide
The place where in my Fathers bosom I can hide
A walk with Jesus is truly the best
A walk with Jesus can help you pass any test
A closer walk with Jesus is what you need to make it
And know that your walk with Jesus you can not fake it
Jesus sees and he knows all
He is standing there waiting on your call
Oh how He longs for a closer walk with you
In that walk the Savior will carry you thru
The Savior is standing awaiting you to call his name
Then from the Heavens the angels will proclaim
Oh Lord your child has come home to be
Because she longed for a closer walk with thee.
